The OLM100 optical linear measurement sensor determines its absolute position using a barcode strip mounted along the length of travel. With a unique measurement length of up to 10 km the OLM100 reliably outputs the correct position with a repeatability of 1 mm every time – even if multiple vehicles are on the same track. The barcode strip can be placed along a curve, a free-roaming path, an incline/decline or a straight line. Being a camera based system with a redundant LED lighting and the complete elimination of any moving parts, the OLM100 offers an outstanding reliability even in rough conditions.
Among the most significant benefits next to its camera based design, the OLM100 offers fast installation and commissioning, reducing installation time and costs. Furthermore, being a non-contact solution neither wheel slippage nor wear occur, thus ensuring preciser and more reliable positioning as well as reducing maintenance cycles while increasing the overall sensor life time.
